DAD & JOAN

Dad has been seeing Joan Lockhart this fall, and they plan to be married December 12th. They were here for lunch Saturday. She has been figuring out what she needs to be moving over here from her home in NY as they combine their two households next month. Best wishes Dad & Joan -- soon to be Mr. & Mrs. George Chappell!

NAOMI N. HERE FOR A WEEK -- Nov. 13-20, 2008

We are enjoying having Naomi with us for a week. Lucille & Yasmin brought her Thursday and also spent the night. Naomi writes lots of letters and in between works on a puzzle and gets in a few games of Rumicube. She keeps us on our toes! We had Leighton & Judy, Ella, and Joe & Ruth for supper with her Friday night. Saturday we had Auntie Bea and Dad & Joan for lunch. Sunday we had Nate & Katie for dinner and Kari & Larry for supper after gospel meeting. Of course we had to get a few games of Rumicube in and a few pieces added to the puzzle! Dad joined us for supper Monday night, and we finished up one puzzle and started another.

WHO IS IT GOING TO BE??????

BERMUDA with Barry & Owen -- Oct. 31 - Nov. 3, 2008

We flew from Boston to Bermuda Friday AM with Barry B. & Owen D. to spend a few days with the 4 friends there. Horace R. picked us up in his taxi. We had a nice apartment right off a main road and could catch the bus right there, so it worked out great. We settled in Friday PM and then walked to a nearby Italian restaurant (Tio Pepe's) for dinner. Delish! Saturday AM after breakfast, Kent & I walked to the beach which was just across the road and down a short walk. A beautiful beach! Then we joined Barry and Owen and caught the bus to Hal & Ruth's home for lunch. Had such a nice visit and lunch with them. In the PM we took the bus and went way out to the end of the island, walked around, peeked in some shops, and then took the ferry back to Hamilton, picked up a few groceries, and back to the apartment for supper. Sunday AM Horace picked us up again and took us to Hal & Ruth's for our little special meeting. He brought us back home again, and we had dinner before setting out again by taxi to visit a couple Owen had talked with. Had a nice visit and then went on to Hal & Ruth's again for another little meeting. A very special day! Horace and Enid took us home with them afterwards for a delicious lamb dinner and visit and then they brought us back to our Clairfont Apt. We packed up after breakfast Monday AM and relaxed a bit before Horace picked us up and took us to the airport. Met up with Mathias and Mike back at the airport in Boston, and they took Owen to the train to go back to NY City, and we brought Barry back to Milford. A memorable week-end in Bermuda and nice to get acquainted with those folks there! We had beautiful weather in the 70's the whole time.

FUN WEEK-END WITH THE GRANDKIDS! Oct. 24-26th, 2008

Ellie & Ava came for supper and the night Friday and stayed till after lunch Saturday. We went out to eat with Leighton & Judy Friday night. Saturday AM we made pancakes, and then Grampa and the girls carved out little pumpkins down in the garage. Paxton & Shaelyn came for supper Saturday eve while Brent & Johanna went out to dinner with a college friend of Brent's. Afterwards Shaelyn went home with them, but Paxton stayed the night. He and Grampa carved out a little pumpkin for him to take home. Guess we forgot to take a picture of that.... Sunday PM Kent, Brent, & Paxton took a walk in the woods while Gramma had a nap! It was a nice afternoon for a walk (and a nap too!).
