A DAY ON PETE'S BOAT -- AUGUST 22ND

Pete invited the guys to go on his boat Friday afternoon, so Kent, Brent, Brad, Dad, and Edgar went. They went from Portsmouth up to York Beach, Boon Island, the Isle of Shoals, and back to Portsmouth. It was a gorgeous day and a great afternoon out on the ocean. They went out to dinner and then to Popovers in Portsmouth for dessert. A relaxing day! THANKS, PETE!

A DAY WITH GRAMMA -- AUGUST 22ND

Ellie & Ava spent all day with me, and we had a fun time. After baking cookies, we had a tea party using the china tea cups from Great Grammie. Ellie poured tea, and Ava served the cookies. We forgot our fancy hats for the tea party, so the girls donned them afterwards and played "Old Fashioned Days". They played the piano, had a library, and played school. After lunch, Johanna came down with Paxton & Shaelyn, and we all spent the afternoon at the pool and had a splashing good time. The kids wanted to go to MacDonalds for supper and then Paxton came home with us and played with the girls all evening -- more "Old Fashioned Days" and school. Shelley was gone to a tennis tournament, so that's why I had the girls. Kent, Brent, & Brad all went to Portsmouth and out on the ocean with Grampie and Edgar on Pete's boat for the afternoon and dinner out afterwards, so Brent & Brad picked up the kids when they got back. A fun day for all!

HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY, BRAD!

Brad's birthday isn't until Monday, but Shelley had Grampie, Brent and Johanna's family, and us for birthday dinner tonight. She fixed a scrumptious grilled chicken dinner. Ellie & Ava fixed a crown for their Daddy's head when we sang Happy Birthday with his cake & candles. HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY, BRAD!!! Got a great picture of Dad after dinner. He looks full of mischief! Brad & Corey enjoyed riding their Harleys to convention last week-end, so I got a picture of him on the way back when we met for supper Sunday night. It was a beautiful 3 hour ride over the mountains both ways with a full moon Sunday night. Shelley and the girls had ridden out with Jody, and Jananne & their kids had driven out. The boys had a great ride!

Grampa had promised Ava a special day together for her birthday, and she wanted to go horseback riding like Ellie did. So Kent enjoyed another gorgeous day with Heather and the girls taking Ava horseback riding. They had a great time again! Thanks, Heather and girls, for giving us a super relaxing day on the horses! A very special time with each granddaughter!

RAINBOW -- August 4, 2008

We had a wonderful convention! Enjoyed the preps and the meetings before the convention as well as our usual Chappell family steak and lobster feed for all the workers before convention. Enjoyed having Carl & Ester G., John & Ester L., Dana & Marilyn W., Dave & Karina B. and little Annalise, and Courtney & Wade H. (CA) stay with us. In the evening after the clean-up day, there was a gorgeous rainbow -- such a fitting ending to wonderful days!

HORSE BACK RIDING WITH ELLIE -- August 13, 2008

Kent had promised Ellie on her birthday way back in January to take her horseback riding, and it finally worked out with everyone's schedule and weather to go yesterday afternoon at Heather's. Kent and Ellie had a wonderful time!!! Heather and her girls went along. It was a beautiful day and a fun afternoon. Kent & Ellie really enjoyed it -- a very special day! Thank you, Heather!!! Ava also wants to have her day with Grampa horseback riding, so hopefully that will work out before school starts.
