2011 MAY -- TRIP TO CALIFORNIA

We flew to SanFrancisco, CA and rented a car and drove to Mt. Ranch for the convention over Memorial Day week-end. Wonderful convention and nice to see so many that we knew there! The following week we went with Warren & Sue Wainwright, Arleigh & Fern Larson (BC), and Don & Eve Strassburg to the Ironstone Vineyard and Winery and then on to Yosemite National Park for a couple of days. The falls were stunning and the scenery breathtaking! It was absolutely gorgeous!!! Had a lovely dinner at a beautiful Inn one evening. Went to Glacier Point and had more awesome views of El Capitan, HalfDome, and the Falls! Even had some snowflakes there and drove through snowbanked lined roads!!! From there we went back to Merced for a couple of days at Wainwrights' home. Nice to be with all their family and also Corle May and her folks one evening. Then Warren & Sue and we went on to San Francisco for a couple of days and stayed right downtown and walked all around, shopping, eating, Fisherman's Wharf, viewing the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, etc. Nice to be in meeting in SF with the folks there before flying home that afternoon. A wonderful 12 days of fellowship, convention, and sight seeing!!!

2011 AUGUST -- TRIP TO MAINE

We went up to Rockland, ME for two days and met up with Kent's business partner, Pete & Carol, on his boat LIMBO. The first day was gorgeous, and we enjoyed a relaxing cruise all afternoon. Came back and met up with Pete's cousin, John, who owns a lobster boat and takes people out on charter trips as well as two nights a week to an inn on an island for dinner -- Nebo's Inn & Restaurant. We enjoyed the evening cruise and dinner at the inn very much! Pete & Carol stayed the night on their boat, and we stayed at a really nice inn in Rockland -- The Berry Manor Inn. It was beautiful with all the amenities, including 3 kinds of berry pies enticing us in the kitchen for a night snack, popcorn, teas and assorted beverages. Our room was huge with a fireplace and sitting area. Very very nice! The second day it was rainy all day, so we just enjoyed going in some of the neat shops in Rockland and visiting Curtis Jensen's Pharmacy, and then on to Camden to poke around a bit there. A very nice two days!
