2010 FEBRUARY -- PLAYING WITH DOLPHINS

We went to DOLPHIN DISCOVERY, a new feature in Grand Cayman where you get to interact with the dolphins with a trainer. It was a blast! We learned a lot about dolphins as well as getting to pat one, shake flippers, hold him, get a kiss, swim and get splashed, hear him sing to us, ride on him, get pushed on a boogie board 35 mph by him pushing us by our feet, etc. It was a lot of fun and a neat experience!!! We bought the video they took of us, and then I took some pictures of my computer screen while watching the video to get these pictures.

2010 FEBRUARY -- TRIP TO GRAND CAYMAN

We went to Grand Cayman for a week again this year with Dad & Joan, Roger & Bonnie, Norma & Ivan, and Carl & Sally and stayed at the same condos we have stayed in for several years on Seven Mile Beach. We hadn't been back since Hurricane Ivan in 2004. The beach was more beautiful than ever! We had a grand time! Enjoyed the pool and ocean, walks on the beach, delicious dinners out, beach picnic with friends, meetings, etc. It was special to be with the friends there again! There is a new dolphin attraction out by the turtle farm, and we really had fun swimming with the dolphins! Enjoyed the beautiful sunshine and warm weather and breezes every day! A GREAT week!

10 YEARS OLD!

2010 JANUARY -- TRIP TO FLORIDA & GEORGIA

We flew to Florida /Sunday PM and visited Dana & Marilyn White in Bradenton for a few days. They own Nana & Grampa's old trailor, and it was fun to visit there again and reminisce! They have spruced it up and it looks great and the same big tree out front where we always had pictures taken. We 4 went to St. Petersburg Monday and met up with Glenn & Shirley Spunaugle for lunch and then took Glenn on to Miami to meet up with Warren & Scott Wainwright. Glenn, Warren, & Scott were flying to Haiti the next day and taking a bunch of supplies over and to help out from the earthquake damage . We had dinner with them before heading back the 4 hour drive to Bradenton. Tuesday we had breakfast together with Gordon & Nancy Gates at D & M's, then went to Gilbert & Patricia Haine's home for a visit, on to the beach for a quick walk, and back to D & M's for spaghetti supper with Gilbert, Patricia, Gordon & Nancy again to celebrate Gordon's b'day. Went to Gordon & Nancy's for breakfast on Wednesday and then packed up to fly to Georgia in the PM to spend the rest of the week with Tony & Becky Gary. Enjoyed our time with them and seeing her Mom and his folks, doing a bit of shopping and running around, and going to Mark & Lauren's (Shelley's brother) for Will's 7th birthday. He had a "snake & reptile" b'day, so it was pretty exciting!!! I don't like snakes but don't freak out with them, so I bravely let 2 wrap around my neck and helped hold the giant boa!!! Quite amazed myself! We flew home Saturday PM. Thanks Dana & Marilyn and Tony & Becky for your hospitality!!! Great to be with you all again! Our hearts were all in Haiti much of the time and with those folks struggling to pick up the pieces from the terrible devastating earthquake. Appreciated sharing in it together....

WEEK-END IN NY CITY WITH JOHN & ESTER

On the spur of the moment, we decided to go to NY City for the week-end and visit John & Ester Lynch and Domingos -- a fella from E. Temor. We called, and it would work for them! So Saturday AM off we went to "The Big Apple"! We got to John & Ester's around 2 PM and had tea and goodies (that would mean CALORIES!) and a good long chat. Domingos arrived while we were finishing up dinner and spent the night there as well. Off to union meeting Sunday AM and to Cheese Cake Factory for dinner (YUM!), then to Mark & Owen's meeting in the PM. Mark & Owen joined us for supper at Panera Bread before heading on to their evening meeting. We headed on to CT for the night. Monday we stopped at Margaret & Gerry Gundersons for a visit with Al Overway. They wanted to see our Russia trip pictures, so we had tea and cookies while we looked at pictures and visited. From there, we went on to RI and the Parsons to visit Betty, who had had shoulder surgery. Susan & Alicia were there too, so another tea & goodies and visit. Got home Monday evening FAT & HAPPY! Ha! Sure had a nice week-end!

WINTER IS HERE & SNOW IS COMING!

Decided it was time to give my BLOG a more wintry look since it IS December! They say snow is on its way, so maybe Ole Man Winter is coming out of hiding.... HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
